Tultul Bora began Ritu's in 1991, guided by a love for colour, craft and beautiful things. Three decades later, her vision still shapes everything we do.
Tradition, worn naturally.
Some things become beautiful because they are made slowly, worn often and kept for a long time.In 1991, Ma began with a love for handloom, an instinct for colour, and an eye for beauty that was entirely her own. Over the years, her designs became familiar across Assam. Women came looking for her colours, her combinations, her way of bringing a little unexpectedness to something deeply traditional. Her textiles became part of weddings and celebrations, of mornings spent choosing what to wear and evenings spent getting ready together. She dressed brides, helped curate their weddings, attended their special days, and in time became woven into the stories of many families herself.Three decades later, we continue what she began.Muga, Paat, Kesa Paat, Tussar and cotton at a time. Each with its own character, its own rhythm, its own way of holding colour and pattern. We believe handloom was never meant to sit behind glass. It was meant to be worn, lived in, loved, and one day, passed on.Rooted in Assam. Woven by hand. Made to be lived in.
